High Lord(ess) Achlys
Pronunciation - "Ack-Loos'
Ballatorian High Lord/Goddess of Darkness, Death, and the Eternal Night
(Achlys is a rather androgynous mare - strongly built but very graceful)
This Ballator is a HIGH LORD and IS NOT OPEN FOR BREEDING.
Ask, and you will be obliterated.
That is all.
Achlys tends to be a little picky about giving her gifts - for the most part, she believes the Ballators of Earth are too ignorant to receive her precious and beautiful gifts. She will, however, occasionally bless (or curse) a Ballator based upon their actions.
To the small ones, meaning the Ballators, she may bestow her gifts if she sees great potential.
To obtain gifts from Aether, or any of the High Lords and Lordesses is a great honor. Gifts are only offered to those who are worthy, eg, winners of high-class shows, highly stat-ed EB's, and the like. However, since he is so generous, he does randomly give out gifts from time to time.
Lux stellarum - Starlight (or more commonly known as The Light of The Stars)
This is one of Achlys' signature gifts - she blesses a Ballator with the comfort of the night sky, allowing their horns and hooves to glow lightly in the same color as their horns.
Nox donum - The Night-Gift (or the Gift of Night)
Achlys, with this gift, can give a Ballator a stat boost of varying degrees.
Be aware though - she may get grumpy if begging or whining follows her.
She may take stat points away in that case.
Rothomagi de Sidereas Nox - Roan of the Starry Night
Achlys prides herself on her coat - it gleams, shimmers, and changes like the night sky. That is why, in some cases, she will see fit to share her great beauty with the mortal Ballators of the Earth. This beautiful roaning does not, however, include the striping - and will not change any white markings.
umbrae rictus - The Shadow of Her Gaping Mouth (most often called True Rictus)
This gift is a special one that she tends to save for the more devious of the Earth - granting a Ballator a frightening new grin. This new face comes with a few extra fangs, and a very wide bite.
Maledicite Nocte Regina
Overall, Achlys is not a nice deity. Working as a Fate and spending her time in the icy embrace of nothingness can get to an individual. So how else is a deity supposed to get those annoyances of life out of her system? Easy. Mess around with the playthings. Occasionally, Achlys will inflict small plagues upon the Ballators - tiny ones, mind you - like the loss of a stat point and having it moved to another horse in the stable, random spurts of baldness in Stallions, things like that. (they don't last. more than a few days, mind you.) But that being said, she does get angry. And will mercilessly go after any wrongdoer in her eyes. She will occasionally take the lives of Ballators she does not see fit to live, will cripple or scar others permanently, and will even take away a mare's ability to birth foals.
Words of wisdom? Don't get on this Goddess' bad side.
